PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Nippon Paint Super Matex is a high-quality acrylic copolymer emulsion paint specifically formulated for interior walls and ceilings. Renowned for its excellent coverage and high opacity, it provides a smooth, elegant matt finish that effectively hides surface imperfections. It is an ideal choice for internal masonry surfaces, including plaster, brickwork, and wallboards, offering a dependable and economical solution for refreshing living spaces with vibrant, long-lasting color.


 

Technical Data 

1. Paint Type: Water-based (Acrylic Copolymer Emulsion).

2. Product Type: Interior.

3. Finishing: Matt.

4. Drying Time: Touch Dry: 15–30 minutes; Hard Dry: 1 hour (depending on temperature and humidity).

5. Recoating Interval: Minimum 2 hours.

6. Theoretical Coverage: 10 – 12 m² per litre per coat (actual coverage varies with substrate porosity).

7. Volume Solids: Approximately 33%.

Application Instruction 

1. Application Method: Can be applied using a brush, roller, or conventional air spray. Stir the paint thoroughly before use.

2. Thinning: * Brush/Roller: Dilute with a maximum of 5% – 10% clean water if necessary.

   • Conventional Air Spray: Dilute with 10% – 20% clean water for better flow.

3. Cleaning: Clean all tools and equipment with clean water immediately after use.

Recommended Coating System

• Sealer/Primer (1 Coat): 5200 Wall Sealer / 5400 Wall Sealer / Hi-Bond Wall Sealer (specifically for chalky surfaces).

• Topcoat (2 Coats): Super Matex.

Surface Preparation 

1. Cleanliness: Ensure the surface is dry, stable, and free from dirt, grease, oil, and loose materials.

2. Moisture Content: The wall moisture content must be below 16% (as measured by a protimeter) before painting.

3. Alkalinity Check: Ensure the alkalinity of the substrate is below pH 9 to prevent paint defects such as efflorescence or discoloration.

4. Fungus/Algae Treatment: For areas affected by biological growth, apply Nippon Fungicidal Wash. Rinse thoroughly with water and allow to dry completely.

5. Surface Repair: Fill any cracks or holes with a suitable interior masonry filler. Sand the area smooth and remove all dust before applying the primer coat.
