PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Nippon Paint Momento® Cemento Primer acts as a high-performance barrier between your masonry surface and the decorative texture coat. Formulated with advanced high-tech resin, it offers excellent resistance against mild alkalinity and moisture, preventing the common "efflorescence" (white powdery spots) that can ruin textured finishes. Its quick-drying formula and low-odour properties make it an eco-friendly choice for any modern residential or commercial renovation
 

Technical Data

• Paint Type: Water-based acrylic emulsion.

• Finishing: Matt.

• Drying Time: Touch Dry in 15 minutes; Hard Dry in 1 hour (dependent on temperature/humidity).

• Recoating Interval: Minimum 2 hours.

• Theoretical Coverage: 8 – 11 m² per litre per coat (actual coverage varies by substrate porosity).

• Volume Solids: Approximately 33%.

• Shelf Life: Up to 36 months in a tightly sealed container.

   

Application Instruction

1. Dilution: The product is ready to use. If necessary, dilute with no more than 5% water to maintain its high-adhesion properties.

2. Application Method: Apply 1–2 coats evenly using a high-quality interior roller (13mm nap recommended for best results).

3. Cleaning: Clean all tools and equipment with clean water immediately after use to prevent paint hardening.

Recommended Coating System

• Primer (1 Coat): Momento® Cemento Primer.

• Texture Coat (2-3 Coats): Momento® Cemento Texture (applied via trowel to achieve the desired concrete effect).

• Clear Coat (2 Coats): Momento® Cemento Clear Coat (to enhance washability and protect against stains)

Surface Preparation

1. Cleanliness: Ensure the surface is thoroughly clean, dry, and free from dirt, grease, loose chalk, or any foreign matter.

2. Repairs: All cracks, holes, and uneven surfaces must be repaired using a suitable filler (e.g., Nippon Paint EasySKIM 5000) and sanded smooth once dry.

3. Moisture & Alkalinity: Check that the wall's moisture content is below 16% (measured by protimeter) and alkalinity is below pH9.

4. Old Paint Removal: Remove all loose or defective paint and powdery residues by scraping or high-pressure water jetting if necessary.

5. Spot Priming: For problematic or highly porous walls, spot prime with an appropriate sealer (like Nippon Interior Wall Sealer) before applying the Cemento Primer.
