PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Nippon Paint Odourlite Soft Matt Finish is a premium, low-odour solvent-based alkyd enamel paint specifically formulated for interior wood and metal surfaces. Designed to provide a sophisticated, contemporary look, it delivers a smooth, non-reflective "soft matt" finish that hides surface imperfections better than high-gloss alternatives. Unlike traditional oil-based paints that carry a strong chemical scent, Odourlite is engineered for a more comfortable painting experience, making it ideal for occupied spaces such as bedrooms, hospitals, and offices. It offers excellent durability, anti-fungus properties, and resistance to yellowing, ensuring long-lasting aesthetic appeal for doors, frames, and grilles.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

• Mixing: Stir the paint thoroughly with a clean paddle before use to ensure the matting agents and pigments are perfectly blended.

• Application Method: Apply using a high-quality Brush, Roller, or Conventional Air Spray.

• Dilution: 
  • Brush/Roller: Ready for use. If necessary, add maximum 5% Odourlite Thinner.

  • Spray: Dilute with 10% – 15% Odourlite Thinner for optimal atomization.

• Cleaning: Clean all tools and equipment with Odourlite Thinner immediately after use.

• Note: Proper ventilation is recommended during application and drying to ensure the best finish quality.

RECOMMENDED COATING SYSTEM

For Metal Surfaces:

• Primer (1 Coat): Red Oxide Primer / Zinc Phosphate Primer / Aquatec 1900 Acrylic Primer.

• Undercoat (1 Coat): Odourlite Undercoat.

• Topcoat (2 Coats): Odourlite Soft Matt Finish.

For Wood Surfaces:

• Undercoat (1 Coat): Odourlite Undercoat.

• Topcoat (2 Coats): Odourlite Soft Matt Finish.

SURFACE PREPARATION

• General Cleaning: Surfaces must be dry, clean, and free from dirt, grease, oil, and wax.

• Metal Surfaces: Remove all rust and mill scale by wire brushing or sanding. For new metal, degrease the surface with a solvent before priming.

• Wood Surfaces: Sand the surface along the grain using fine-grit sandpaper (#240 or #320) to remove loose fibers. Wipe off all dust before application.

• Previously Painted Surfaces: Scrape off all loose or flaking paint. For surfaces in good condition, lightly sand with fine sandpaper to provide a mechanical "key" for the new paint.

• Moisture Content: Ensure the substrate is completely dry. Moisture trapped under the film can lead to adhesion failure or bubbling.
