PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Nippon Paint Gold Paint is a premium, water-based acrylic paint specifically formulated to provide a luxurious, brilliant metallic gold finish. This high-performance coating is designed for both interior and exterior applications, offering excellent weather resistance and durability. It mimics the appearance of real gold with a smooth, shimmering luster that does not tarnish easily. It is an ideal choice for decorative projects, religious monuments, statues, wrought iron gates, and architectural highlights. Being a water-based "Green Choice" product, it is low-odour, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly, making it safe for DIY enthusiasts and professionals alike.

• Thinning: Ready for use. If required, dilute with maximum 5% clean water.

• Theoretical Coverage: 7 – 9 m² per litre per coat (Subject to surface porosity)

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

• Mixing: Stir the paint thoroughly with a clean paddle before use to ensure the metallic pigments are evenly distributed. Do not shake the can.

• Application Method: Apply using a high-quality soft-bristle Brush, Roller, or Conventional Air Spray.

• Technique: For the best results, apply in thin, even coats. For large flat surfaces, spray application is recommended to avoid visible brush marks and to achieve a uniform shimmer.

• Cleaning: Clean all brushes and tools with clean water immediately after use.

• Note: For maximum brilliance, it is highly recommended to apply a yellow-coloured undercoat before the gold paint.

RECOMMENDED COATING SYSTEM

For Masonry (Concrete/Plaster):

• Sealer (1 Coat): 5100 Wall Sealer / 5200 Wall Sealer.

• Undercoat (1-2 Coats): Weatherbond (Exterior) or EasyWash (Interior) in Yellow (NP YO 1112D Austere Yellow) to enhance gold depth.

• Topcoat (2-3 Coats): Gold Paint.

For Wood & Metal:

• Primer (1 Coat): Hydro Primer / Aquatec 1900 Acrylic Primer.

• Undercoat (1 Coat): 9000 Speed Undercoat (Yellow).

• Topcoat (2-3 Coats): Gold Paint.

SURFACE PREPARATION

• General Cleaning: Surfaces must be dry, clean, and free from dirt, grease, oil, and loose matter.

• Masonry: Ensure moisture content is below 16% and alkalinity is below pH 9. Remove all loose or powdery residues.

• Metal: Remove rust and mill scale by wire brushing or sanding. For galvanized surfaces, ensure the surface is degreased before priming.

• Wood: Sand the surface along the grain to remove loose fibers and wipe off all dust.

• Previously Painted Surfaces: Remove all loose, flaking, or defective paint. Lightly sand sound existing coatings to provide a mechanical key for better adhesion.

• Biological Treatment: Treat areas affected by fungus or algae with Nippon Fungicidal Wash and rinse thoroughly before painting.
