PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Nippon Paint PU Recoatable Lite Finish is a high-performance, two-pack aliphatic polyurethane topcoat designed for superior aesthetic and protective results. It is specifically engineered to provide excellent gloss and color retention for exterior surfaces exposed to harsh sunlight and weathering.
Unlike standard epoxy topcoats that may chalk or fade when exposed to UV radiation, the "Lite" version of this PU finish offers a balanced formulation that ensures a tough, easy-to-clean, and highly durable film. It is the ideal solution for protecting structural steel, storage tanks, and various masonry surfaces where long-term weather resistance and a professional high-gloss appearance are required.

Conventional Spray: Thin with 10–20% for optimal atomization.
-
-
Application Method: Spray application is recommended for a professional, mirror-like finish. Brush and roller are suitable for smaller areas or touch-up work.
-
Cleaning: Clean all tools and equipment immediately after use with Nippon PU Thinner.
RECOMMENDED COATING SYSTEM
For maximum durability on exterior steel or concrete, follow this sequence:
-
Primer (1 Coat): Nippon Paint 8048 Zinc Phosphate Primer QD or Nippon Paint EA9 Red Oxide Primer.
-
Intermediate (1 Coat): Nippon Paint EA4 Finish or Nippon Paint EA9 Finish HB.
-
Topcoat (2 Coats): Nippon Paint PU Recoatable Lite Finish.
SURFACE PREPARATION
-
Existing Coatings: Ensure the intermediate epoxy coat is clean, dry, and free from oil, grease, or moisture. If the intermediate coat has been exposed for more than 7 days, it must be lightly sanded to ensure mechanical adhesion.
-
Surface Cleanliness: Use a solvent wipe to remove any dust or contaminants before applying the PU topcoat.
-
Dryness: The surface must be completely dry. Any moisture present during application can react with the hardener, leading to surface defects like pinholes or loss of gloss.
-
Environmental Conditions: Do not apply if the relative humidity exceeds 85% or if the surface temperature is less than 3°C above the dew point.
