Application Instructions
-
Application Method: Apply using a Brush, Roller (short-nap mohair recommended), or Conventional Air Spray.
-
Mixing: Stir the Base component first. Gradually add the total contents of the Hardener component into the Base while continuing to stir. Use a mechanical stirrer (300–500 rpm) for 2–3 minutes until a completely homogeneous mix is achieved.
- Dilution:
- Brush/Roller: Thin with 5% – 10% clean water.
-
Conventional Spray: Thin with 25% – 30% clean water.
-
Cleaning: Clean all tools and equipment with clean water immediately after use.
-
Curing: Full cure is achieved after 7 days. Avoid heavy traffic or chemical exposure during this period.
Recommended Coating System
- Primer/Sealer (1 Coat):
- βββββββFor Concrete Floors: Aqua Epoxy Primer or Penetrative Epoxy Primer.
-
For Glazed Tiles: Tile Primer or Hycote 51WT.
-
For Internal Walls: 5200 Interior Sealer or Aqua Epoxy (thinned 10%).
- βββββββFor Concrete Floors: Aqua Epoxy Primer or Penetrative Epoxy Primer.
-
Topcoat (2-3 Coats): Nippon Paint Aqua Epoxy.
-
Note: For non-slip requirements, incorporate Nippon Non-Skid Silica into the final coat.
Surface Preparation
-
General Cleaning: Surfaces must be structurally sound, dry, and free from oil, grease, dirt, and loose contaminants.
-
New Concrete: Must be cured for at least 28 days.
Moisture content must be below 6% (measured by Kett HI-520) and pH level below 9. -
Laitance Removal: Remove concrete laitance and curing compounds via light grinding or captive shot blasting to ensure a porous surface for maximum adhesion.
-
Previously Painted Surfaces: Remove all unstable paint film and loose chalk. Abrade the surface with sandpaper to provide a mechanical key before applying the primer.
- Repair: Fill all cracks, potholes, and surface irregularities with a suitable epoxy filler or putty before application.
