PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Nippon Paint Multi-Purpose Floor Coating is a high-performance, single-component water-based acrylic coating specifically engineered for the protection and decoration of internal and external masonry surfaces. It is an ideal solution for cement or concrete floors, sports courts, walkways, and light-duty industrial areas. This versatile coating provides a durable, low-sheen finish that offers excellent resistance to weathering, abrasion, and mechanical damage. Formulated as an environmentally friendly "Green Choice" product, it features low VOC levels, low odor, and non-toxic properties, making it safe for both residential and commercial applications. Its ability to provide a non-skid surface on slippery substrates makes it a preferred choice for high-traffic pedestrian areas and recreational facilities.

Technical Data

Application Instructions

• Application Method: Apply using a high-quality Brush or Roller.

• Mixing: Stir the paint thoroughly before and during use to ensure color and texture uniformity.

• Dilution: Preferable not to dilute for best performance. If necessary, use no more than 5% water for the first coat on highly porous surfaces to aid penetration.

• Cleaning: Clean all tools and equipment with clean water immediately after use.

• Note: Avoid application during wet weather or if rain is expected within 4 hours. Allow the floor to cure for at least 24 hours before allowing light foot traffic.

Recommended Coating System

• Primer / Sealer (1 Coat): Acrylic 5170 Wall Sealer or 5100 Wall Sealer (for better adhesion on concrete).

• Topcoat (2-3 Coats): Nippon Paint Multi-Purpose Floor Coating.

• Note: For areas requiring extra grip, specialized non-skid silica sand can be broadcasted onto the first coat while still wet or mixed into the paint.

Surface Preparation

• General Cleaning: Surfaces must be structurally sound, dry, clean, and free from dirt, oil, grease, wax, and loose matter.

• Efflorescence/Dust: Remove all white powdery residues and dust by wire brushing or high-pressure water jetting.

• Moisture & Alkalinity: Ensure the moisture content of the floor is below 16% (measured by Protimeter) and the alkalinity is below pH 9. New concrete must cure for at least 28 days.

• Biological Growth: Treat any areas affected by fungus or algae with a suitable fungicidal wash solution and rinse thoroughly before painting.

• Repair: Fill cracks and surface imperfections with suitable masonry fillers or exterior-grade putty. Smoothen repaired areas with sandpaper before priming.
